Influence Without Authority: Leading When You're not the Boss

One of the toughest situations at work is when you need someone to do something, but you have no authority over them. 

They don’t report to you. 

You can’t tell them what to do. 

But you need their help so you, your team, and your company are successful. 

Six years ago, during one of my leadership coaching sessions, Max brought me this exact problem. 

We worked through it live. 

I recently watched the session again and had to smile. 

After another six years of studying and teaching communication, there are certainly a few things I’d say differently today. 

But the punchline? 

💥 Authority is a language pattern, not a title.
