“I took a step back. Asked myself, “What do I want? What works for me?’” Look at yourself first and THEN go look for the companies."

Find. Evaluate. Then target companies. Be surgical.

“I didn’t wait for the company to come out with a job opening. I was reaching out directly (to bosses) and I didn’t know whether they had an opening.” (I mentioned, 20% of jobs are advertised.)

“I didn’t know it was okay to ask a (clarifying) question before I answered. You don’t need to immediately answer (until you’re clear).”

“If you don’t have the experience, talk about what you do know and the experience you have and how it’s analogous.”

"Make sure you prepare your questions and organize them for each interviewer!"

Always be prepared for them to START with, “What questions do you have for me?”

”When you get to the hiring manager, they might consider how to add you to their team.” Don’t solely focus on the one job opportunity. Kyle got a job for which there was no job description. He was successful because he proactively prepared his requirements in advance and knew how to evaluate the opportunities!
